Xmen "Days of Future Passed

My brother said it was great, as did some on here, so I bought it and it arrived on Friday. I watched it yesterday. Hmmm. A good flick, no doubt, but not my favorite of the franchise. Of course it's better than X-Men 3 - getting punched in the b***s is better than that one. Having not read the comics since the mid 90's, this movie made me wonder if I'd missed one of the movies or something.

In the third one, a number of folks dies, including Professor X. Yet, here he was. Seems like there should have been some explanation of that. Also, having some of the characters look roughly the same a good 20+ years (I'm guessing) in the future? Some explanation would have been nice. Plus, they had characters in this one that weren't in any that I'd ever seen, without any introduction at all.

It was explained roughly in the last one, although as one of those extra cut scenes after the credits and hinted at during the movie.

Was that "Last Class," or a different one? I didn't see the latest Wolverine flick.

I thought the brunt of the story was good, but much of the "future" part was sort of convoluted. I still enjoyed it. Audio was kind of random, but I didn't think it was bad.

Wolverine ages extremely slowly, so he doesn't look too much different. "Age" doesn't really apply in these movies because they don't take into account anyone's actual age or try to get them era correct. Kitty would have been much older, and Bobby (Iceman) would have been as old as Magneto and Prof X, just for starters. The funny thing is, they sort of expect you to know who the characters are, as in, fans of the comics. YET, they take every opportunity to alter the characters, change the relationships, era, alter powers, etc...

I picked up The Wolverine for $12 over the weekend and watched it. Pretty good actually, but while they kept the storyline "similar" they totally changed characters to suit the movie once again. I'd recommend it as fun entertainment for fans, just be aware it doesn't hold true to the comics just like the rest.

Last Stand is the only movie in the series I don't own now, and won't. Agreed that one was the worst without question.

It's funny to me that everyone that likes the X-men movies seems to HATE X-3 and myself that doesn't like the X-men movies actually liked X-3.

If X3 is the previosu Xmen movie, I prefered it to this one from a story line. I think audio was also better than this last release. :)

Oh darn 3db.
Is it really that difficult for these movie sound mixers to make the soundtrack HOT? :D

Don't they know we want hot bass and abundant surround effects?

Just turn it up, right? :D

Maybe they are just waiting for the ATMOS release. That way they can say it's a huge improvement. :D

Last one was First Class, which was the first "prequel" with them when they were younger (McAvoy as Prof X)
