Xindak, high end Chinese audio manufacturer.

Does anyone have experience with their products. Their stuff seems to go for pretty cheap on Ebay in respect to similar products made in Japan, places in Europe, or USA. It stands to reason that Chinese made gear would be less expensive, but where do they stand in the ranks with other audio gear.

They seem to like Class A solid state amplification, which I would like to get into at some point. I am moving toward two channel rigs and Xindak seems like a good way to get my feet wet.

So if anyone has dealt with this company, has experience with their equipment, and has any idea how reliable they are, I would like to hear/read your responses.:)

I think that amplifier is pretty darn nice looking.:)

Why bother with high end class A amplifiers. We all know it will sound the same as anything else you have ever had when operated within its design limits. :D

Class A is a different topology. They also have tube preamp sections in some of their designs. I have never said all amplifiers sound the same.

Class A/B amplifiers are about the most used amplifier types and they all pretty much sound the same.:)

..... Sorry, no info on Xindak though.
Rick,,,
Actually, about midway down in the article, Chengu XINDAK Electronic Co. Ltd, is mentioned. I've read Stereophile pretty religously the past two years and the name that popped into my fuddled brain was Shanling whose brand comes up pretty often, although I think they are tubed offerings.....also on Ebay for awhile there I was watching the chinese iron [tubed amps] for very reasonable prices.

Seth. Does that integrated have a remote? I would not own a stereo without a remote.

Good find Dave.
I've had that article in my favorites, and hadn't read it since February.
One of the dealers mentioned for Vasaudio is about 30 minutes north of me.
I've been procrastinating taking a ride to check them out.

What's a Pliotron? I do happen to like the "holistic cool structure." "The texture is thick, exquisite and soft," Chinese porn anyone? "Choose XA6800 SE, choose more music taste." Using this amp will broaden your musical taste? How much do they want for this marvelous, taste altering, piece of Chinese engineering?

I still can't get past the concept of putting "Chinese" and "high end" in the same sentence. It seems like an oxymoron.

Yes, me too.
But...
I hate to say this, but I'm afraid we'll see the day that China becomes the country that pushes the USA into the number two spot.
They are no longer the country of Chinese handcuffs, and plastic dog poop.

Opps, sorry for the thread hijack.

So true. My friend gave me a Chinese knock off of a Swiss Army pocket knife, what a piece of garbage, the blade was full of tool marks the plastic was brittle, it lasted about a month till it literally fell apart in my hands after light use. Yet I still have my real Swiss Army Victorinox that's about 20 years old, looks and functions like it was brand new. That Chinese amp, I don't know. Where will you get it serviced? What if you need new Pliotrons? What if it stops changing your musical tastes? And what if it stops being sexy? I guess for that one you'll have to play Rod Stewart repetitiously for 24 hours to realign the Chinese Sexy Factor.

I don't know... my Chinese handcuffs are holding up very well.
I'm pretty sure, somewhere, an old girlfriend is still struggling to get out, as we speak.:D

Maybe we'd better get used to it. I was in the Sham Shui Po district of Hong Kong recently and a friend brought me to a building that housed 7 floors of mid to higher end audio retailers. The building was mobbed.
There was one floor that was riddled with hulking, sexy tube amps. The setups sounded wonderful and all made in China. There's more and more disposable income over there now so I guess we have counterparts that will lay a good chunk down on audio.

It wasn't more than 10 years ago when I still thought Cadillac was higher end and and of better overall quality than Lexus. That said, I wouldn't touch Chines made amps for at least another 5 years, Class A or not.

Aw, I'm just a sucker for slapstick, Seth. Plastic dog poop discussions make me laugh just because......

Sorry, didn't mean to derail your thread.

EDIT: Seth...I wasn't at all referring to the subject of your thread or the issue it raises. It's just that some of these guys that reply are cracking me up.
