My yamaha used to get super hot when we pushed it, it was funny because it realaly depended on the movie you could watch some movies all day and others you play for an hour and you could smell the yamaha getting hot. That why I went with separates on this HT, I consider my first real HT system, I can play what ever I want as loud as I want with no issues, the amps stay cold no fans no smells, keep it on all day and it isnt even warm to the touch...

I think most of us would agree that if budget allows, an external amp (assuming no hum noise:D) is usually a very good route.

Currently I am not using an external amp with my Denon 3312 in the family room. But I think the Denon 3312 (and all AVR) would appreciate an external amp very much. :D

I may give in and get another ATI amp (5th one) for the 3312. The AT1202 is also 120WPC like the 3312, but for some reasons I have a lot more faith in ATI. :D

It seems resistance is futile. :D

Is it because you use Audyssey XT32 + Dynamic EQ w/ dual Sub EQ? :D

Yeah, the first time I turned on Dynamic EQ on my Denon, I had a grin from ear to ear. :D

When I turn off DEQ, my face looks like this. :(

I think you nailed it
