if you're looking for action ... it's just ok.

if you're a comic book fan AND want to see the STORY live action ... it's great.

there's a lot of talking and story material ... 50% of this generation will probably doze off.

heck, i was a fan, and i could find myself tuning out sometimes.

I was actually a little disappointed. Perhaps it was due to my high expectation. And also because I thought Wolverine did very little besides just being there. Okay, I probably prefer the Wolverine movies. :D

Beware my NERD RAGE:

Movie was good, just not what I was hoping it would be.

The X-Men is about all the characters, not just Wolverine, not just professor X...etc. I am tired of Wolverine dominating every X-men film, and he has his own movies, there are so many solid characters they could explore.

- Most of the characters are just background wallpaper for Prof X / Wolverine / Mystique.
- At least this was much better than the last Wolverine Movie.
- I would have really liked to have seen them introduce/provide backgrounds for more of the characters of the X-Men Universe.
(They did however do a Great Job with Quicksilver) that was one of the most entertaining parts of the movie
- Cyclops was the leader of the X-men, and he was never given even the smallest opportunity in any of the first 3 movies. How can you call the previous first class movie first class when the original Xmen, were Cyclops, Jene Gray, Beast, Angel, Iceman?

Rather than throw a ton of characters briefly at the movie screen, would have liked to seen a little more character development other than the same characters over and over again. Iits a good popcorn movie to watch but I rank it on the lower end of the Marvel Universe movies. Definitely ranks well above Daredevil, Ghost Rider 2 and Fantastic Four.

Here is hoping that the next movie does better, at least from the ending credits Age of Apocalypse looks promising.

So here we are...summer...time for big FX movies. We've had Spiderman, X Men, Captain America and Godzilla. After all those Mac Pros, pushed to the limits animating these things, you'd think I'd be impressed, but after numerous reboots, do-overs, new cast members, sequels, prequels and revisions, it might be time for fall. We did X Men (and women) tonight and while it wasn't bad, I did leave feeling like it was Deja Vu all over again...Ground Hog Day? Just how much more blood can you get from this turnip? Ok acting was competent, script writing kept adding new twists and with each iteration the FX get better. I was entertained for 2 hours. On the way home, however, I stopped to gas up and realized that I could barely remember what happened except that X Men characters went back and time to save the day that way. No big surprises in this one, but it's not bad. I just can't help feeling that we need to give Marvel a rest for a while, but the end of the credits suggested that there won't be any rest just yet. I didn't notice a Stan Lee cameo, but if there was one, even that's a do-over.

Unlike the other two Marvel universes (Fantastic Four, Avengers) movies, I don't think Stan Lee does cameos in X-men movies.

I watched it at the theater last night and I quite enjoyed it. It was well done. I wish more of the Xmen would have shown up but all in all, it kept me entertained. I will reserve a spot for it when the BluRay comes out. :)

So will I. We enjoyed it enough at the theatre that a Blu-Ray will be worth it. If we enjoy a movie enough at the theatre, I find a better quality in both sound and picture when watching it at home so and I have an idea what to look out for so I can pick up on subtle things I might have missed the first time.

And, let's face it. At my age it won't be too long like I'll be essentially seeing it for the first all over time (again).:)

Going to be a tough call, but I think I will blind buy this one. I really didn't like X3 at all, but have enjoyed all the others quite a bit.
