X-Mas is coming early for me!!!

I've just ordered a full 7 speaker surround sound configuration using Monitor Audio Silver Series Speakers. This has to be the deal of the year. I got a pair of S8's, two pairs of S6's, and a SLCR for under $3k shipped to my door (Hawaii). The only thing is that they're are a warm beech color instead of the black that I wanted. I also have a SVS PC-Ultra. So what do you fellas think, will I be in heaven when I hook them up to my Denon AVR-3806 and Denon DVD-2930CI? Any advice on the setup? I already have 10gauge blue jeans speaker wire in place along with their HDMI cables. I'm also making use of the 3rd Gen. Denon Link connection which works fantastic. I'm so excited I just had to share it with you.

.....may you float three feet off the floor....sounds like a very good system for sure......

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. I just got the shipping notice from UPS for a total combined weight of 270lbs . I'll be sure to post back once I have set them up.

That is one of the tough things about quality speakers. The weight of my 3 rockets was 300 something pounds (with pallet) but each main is over 90lbs...makes it super hard to position.

I went and bought a 25 dollar handtruck for their arrival...it might be advised for you too!!

I don't think a handtruck would help me up the stairs. I'm a pretty big guy so I'm just going to superman them up the stairs one by one.

I finally got everything today. I hooked it all up, set the distances and channel level with my trusty db meter. First movie I popped in was LOTR Return Of The King and let me tell you, it is quite an experience now to watch it. The only way I can describe it is that it doesn't feel like you're in the theater, it feels like you're in the movie itself. The sound is incredible and so lifelike. I don't even think an amp is necessary anymore. It goes plenty loud especially in 7ch stereo mode. Kudos to Saturday Audio Exchange for such good prices.

Congrats! That's a very nice setup.

I can't wait for the weekend, movie night! I may purchase a y cable and run both the subwoofers at the same time.
