Hello, I just got two of the athena LS-100B bookshelf front speakers and I am now looking for the matching center. My GF got me them for my Bday. I have had a hard time finding the matching center though. Let me know if anyone wants to get rid of one or if anyone knows where to find one. Thanks for your time!!

Cody, it is too bad that you didn't ask this question exactly one year ago! Woot.com had them for $60. Not to rub salt in the wound...I just thought that it was amazing how it was this same date last year that they had it up for sale.

A thread in another forum indicated that the Energy C-C100 is a sonic match. I didn't look around too much, but Buy.com has that speaker in stock for $114 shipped.

Thanks alot Adam, I appreciate the info. My next question was going to be what should I substitute in place of a LS-C100 if I cant find the LS-C100. Guess your one step ahead of me lol.

I read the Energy center that Adam suggested would match up with your Athena speakers nicely. I didn't check but you might try Audioadvisor.com for the Athena or the Energy center you're looking for. They are an excellent company to work with!!!
Your very best choice is a third speaker that is the same as your fronts for the center. That will sound the best.
Let us know what you do.

So another LS-100B bookshelf being used as the center would be better than using the LS-C100 center or energy C-C100 center? I do not know anything about speakers and I have never even thought about using another of the bookshelf speakers as the center.

That gives you the ultimate timbre matching and seemless soundstage. It's also better to have the tweeter above the woofer than the typical WTW design of most centers. Hopefully one of the other guys will chime in as to why that is, something about lobing I think.
