Hey guys, I filled my pos car up today and gas was $2.919 a gallon!:eek: I mean, I never guessed I would EVER say that $2.919 a gallon would be a bargain.:rolleyes: But, nevertheless it is. So, what is it where you are? I just hope that the price drop is NOT a result of the up-coming election. But, I would NOT be surprised if it was.:rolleyes:

Cheers,

Phil

Price drop has nothing to do with the election. The past week of economic troubles have driven commodities prices back through the floor. Oil closed on Friday @ $77 a barrel, and everything I read is predicting $50-60 by the end of the year. With weaker economies in almost every developed and developing country, demand for oil is falling as well. China is a huge culprit here- I read something the other day that said that the predicted oil usage by China for the next year was going to fall 20-30%.

The dollar is also getting stronger, which should help keep the downward pressure on oil prices.

I see your point, but it does seem like it goes down when election time is at hand. Personally, I find it to be a bit more than coincidence. But, I can not say it isn't possible either. I knew sooner or later gas had to come down. Nothing like the present if you ask me.

That really is a good price. There was a station in Evansville, IN that had 2.899 which is the lowest I have seen. Sure felt good not having to spend over $35 on a fill-up. ;);)

Hey Brian, not sure how much that would be here in the US. Can you give me a better idea? It sounds very reasonable, but I am NOT certain.

That is not too bad Maz. It seems to be coming down daily here. Would be very nice to see it fall below $2 a gallon. However, that is probably nothing moire than wishful thinking.:rolleyes:

$1.02/Litre Cdn here today. Please don't ask me to do the conversion. Math is a weak area for me.

There was a Flying J truck stop just off I-4 here near Tampa that was selling 87 oct for $2.85/gal last week. People were waiting in line for 30-45 minutes easily, just to get to the pumps. Elsewhere in my area, the lowest price seen so far has been about $3.19, same as Mazer. I can actually fill up my Explorer for less than $80 again! :D
