Would RSL CG3 work as desktop speakers ?

I have a less than ideal stereo setup at my desk in my study room. I am using a pair of Ascend Acoustics CBM-170, which I have originally bought for an HT setup. Although I enjoy CBM-170 they are too large to be desktop speakers and rear ported (in fact one speaker sits on my wife's desk next to mine due to space limitation). Long story short, I am looking for a pair of smaller desktop speakers that would actually fit to my desk. I already have a subwoofer to pair with L/R speakers (RSL Speedwoofer S10). I have been pondering on CG3s for few reasons: They are smaller, no rear port thus I can put them near the wall, and I have 100 dollars coupon from them which brings the total price down to 170 dollars for a pair of CG3. I am wondering if it's a good idea to put CG3s on a desk or is there anything ~ 300 dollars price range that I should consider Thanks.

I think that RSL's Compression Guide port loading system end sup making a bump in mid-bass that would be exacerbated in a quarter space environment like a desktop. It should be OK other than that. If you can EQ that bass, I think they would be fine.
