Speaking of a fanboy......

it's 'principles', and that's what bush and his cronies lacked
the Founding Fathers were doing about 6000 rpm when he was in office...

in fact, Obama was elected by those very 'principles'...
why 'fan boy', and not supporter (shouldn't everybody support the President and hope for, and help achieve, his success?)

oh wait, I know why...you're smarter than the other 55% of the Country
you're right, we're wrong...you see the light, we are deluded by his magic...

YOUR MINDSET is what is WRONG with this Country

To paraphrase MLK, I believe we should judge a politician based upon the content of their character, rather than the caricature of their political party.

you seem to be a fan boy and 'hater'...

I voted bush 1 (1), bush 2 (1), fool me once, but we, err, won't get fooled again, lol, not sure that makes me a fan boy...
I do prefer my leaders sane and rational...

I wanted to vote McCain, but palin was too scary...
in bush's case, lack of character...although he WAS a caricature

and I do realize: you are smarter, more insightful, have a better grasp of the situation, than 55% of the electorate...
you are 'better' equipped to make the choice...you 'know the secret', they are 'in the dark', we get it...bunch of 'dupes', they should have listened to you, lol

It's not a hoax: it's satire.
Thanks for the correction Jerry. My point is, satire or not, people will use any excuse to turn anything into a political arguement which is the biggest waste if time and adds no value except for shooting off their big yap. I've been around the block a few times already and in my life time, I've come to the conclusion that politicians are self serving or become that way after a few years in the system regardless of party. Thats why turning this satire into a political venue is pointless. Let the fools argue their points in vain. ;)

Getting in before this thread gets closed.

As Americans we shouldn't "hope" our president does what's best for us. We should demand that he does what's best for us. Every word that's spoken, every campaign ad you see is deliberately made to make you feel that you are not in control.

I'm not a Bush supporter, I couldn't stand him in office. We had to choose between the lesser of two evils because there is no longer a way to get a good presidential candidate anywhere that close to the White House.

If you think that Obama is going to save our country, you are deluded.

Your mindset is exactly what is wrong with this country. Just let the politicians do what they want, take what they want, and decide when to wipe your bottom.

It's a fake article, which kind of defunct the purpose of this thread. It's ok to derail at this point, it's going to get closed anyway.

Which everyone always agrees on, right?

But McCain and Palin would have?

There was nothing in his post that indicated that's how he felt, you're focusing on (and overemphasizing) his usage of "hope" and completely ignoring the "help achieve" that he said immediately after.

"shouldn't everybody support the President and hope for, and help achieve, his success?"

Why would I support someone that I think has ill intentions for America? Support a man who clearly thinks we are incapable of taking care of ourselves by putting in place one of the most devastating bills of our time? I certainly don't give a damn about his own success. How does the man's personal success translate to helping America?

I didn't say that McCain would be better, I didn't even imply that. I did say "there is no longer a way to get a good presidential candidate anywhere that close to the White House."

Either one of those candidates would have been horrible.

Thanks for the intelligent post.

And by the way, when (if) you changed from Republican to Democrat, you probably improved both parties. :p

Adding to my previous statement about how both candidates were terrible. They were both so terrible that all one candidate had to do was to make empty promises in order to win the election.

I agree that the system is broken. It can be fixed, but not by politicians. The American ideal is having the right to make your own way, to be free to make decisions and act on them. It's not the American ideal to be taxed for a majority of services we should decide whether or not we should have or use those services. Our nation was founded on the strong, why must the strong suffer to support the lazy and weak? Why must American government intervene and give support to those that had no will to support themselves?

Reading your post makes me seriously wonder what other people must be thinking. What you just said was contradictory to your stance in previous posts. Do you have any idea where you stand at all? For someone that's not a mindless drone you don't seem to mind having your freedoms taken away from you. You seem to have it all figured out, ignore the problem and it will bother you no more once you've passed on. What will the third generation of ArthurPE's think of their great grandfather and his passive views on government dominion? Will they be proud?

It's clear you're passionate about your beliefs...and that's fine... welcome and appreciated actually. Not everyone needs to or will agree with you... nor will you with others... and that's fine too. But tone it down. I'm not kidding. You seem to be getting more and more loose with your blanket insults of members who have been here a lot longer and have contributed to this site, much more than you. A little respect will go a long way around here.
