Playing this 3-LP set from Beatle Paul's "Wings Over America" tour. I was at the concert as a 15 year old in June, 1976 at the St. Paul Civic Center. Fortunately, I remember a lot of it. I could tell you lots of details. It happened to be lead guitarist Jimmy McColloch's 23rd birthday and the audience sang "happy birthday" to him. Anyway, every time I play this record, I recall the concert.

I love Wings Over America, and thought the title/art was cool. A good selection of stuff. On the other hand the sound quality has always sounded a bit grubby to me. Are there more complete versions of the shows? Ideally really live without the overdubs? We went to see Paul McCartney at Dodger Stadium and I was so so SO over the moon he played "Letting Go" OMG it is a huge favorite of mine and I didn't dream he would play it...AND "Let 'Em In" another favorite...AND "Let Me Roll It" an unexpectedly deep cut I quite like as well.

I do not know of any other options for that 1976 tour. That may be a bootleg out there, but I am not aware of any. I imagine, and in fact, I think I have read somewhere years ago that the tapes were juiced in the studio before release. Meaning, maybe Beatle Paul didn't like a sound here and there for some or most tracks and added to them. It was a great show.
