Just a note for any ".edu" people out there in a CS, CPE, SWE, or CIS type major, you might be able to get Win 7 Professional for free if your university has a MSDN agreement. I've been running it for several months now (for free)

Any time you're going to make a change to an OS you should always backup your files to a non-attached source. Personally, I've got two drives in my desktop. When it comes time to install a new system I'm going to end up buying a third, external, to move everything onto and then do the backup. There are bound to be screwups either by the end-user or a glitch in the process.

Show me an OS that doesn't have any. Seriously. Every single one has bugs.
With the amount of code that is written for an OS there is zero possibility of it having no bugs.

No, I thought you needed Vista myself as well. But it will do a clean install.
