Question 3:
In the past year have you ordered any home theater equipment? Optional follow up question: What brand did you end up going with and why?
The only home theater purchase I made this past year was purchasing a new LG Blu Ray player. The reason I chose it was because it had all the features I wanted including built in apps and an included wi-fi dongle. This was more for our bedroom than the home theater because we wanted a blu ray player for the bedroom and have app access wirelessly

Yes.
Oppo BDP-93 - it's built like a tank, it plays everything I want and because it's a cut above everything else at a price that doesn't break the bank.
WDTV Live Hub - it plays a ton of media formats, I don't need a PC or NAS running somewhere sucking up electricity and the internal HD acts as another backup of my media files.
Monoprice cables - too numerous to keep track of...and me likes the prices.

1. hmm... let's go with Amazon, Twitter, and uh... Giantbomb.com?

2. Familiar. I'm aware of their products and that they're considered to be quite good, but I've not actually heard any of them.

3. Yep. Just recently got an Emotiva UMC-1 and XPA-2. Got 'em because I wanted top-notch sound and more power than a receiver would give me. I also got speakers to go with those. I got Martin Logans, because I like that electrostat sound - it's so airy and crisp.

Question 3:
In the past year have you ordered any home theater equipment? Optional follow up question: What brand did you end up going with and why?

The only things Ive ordered in the past year for my home theater have been a new bluray player and a wireless subwoofer kit. While I don't want to have a wireless sub, I had no options in my new condo. After reading quite a few reviews I settled on the Subcast unit as it seemed to be the most highly recommended.

For the bluray player I went with a Panasonic 310 as I wanted something that offered dual HDMI for 3D without having to replace my receiver and wanted something for a reasonable price.
