Will this SPL meter work?

So i'm going to tune my system... and call me cheep but I don't really want to spend $ on something I might already have?(spl meter) I work in the car audio industry and we have a digital SPL meter for doing DB competitions and sound offs. link hereBut I am not sure if it will work as good as the suggested analog versions? Will it go as 75db so I can tune for reference level? thanks guys!!

No reason why not. The only thing I can think of is, the SA--3055 has 30 band anlaysis. What are the details around this? Is it at 30 fixed frequencies or does it average 30 bands across the spectrum.

Preferably, you want something that measures SPL at every frequency between 5Hz and 25KHz to get the best analysis results. You can then use curve smoothing to get a plot that does not look like a porcupine's back, but if there is no data, you cannot create it...

Audio Control has been in business for a long time
They make good stuff that will serve you well and the price is right
When the Radio Shack meter was calibrated to get the on line correction table, they used an Audio Control 3050 or so, meter to calibrate it
