What are your two speakers you're running now? Which sub? (RTi8 and PSW10?)

Due to the load on the amplifier. I'd recommend the RXV 2600 or 4600 if you plan on running 4 RTi8's and a CSi5. The one you have now would be fine with proper bass management, very good ventilation (Yamaha's run hot), and not pushing your system to the limit. You'd want to periodically check the temperature of the receiver after playing movies/music over 20 minutes just to make sure the receiver isn't struggling (put your hand on top of the unit - if it's too hot to the touch, it's probably undersized based on your listening habits).

You have pre-outs on your current receiver. Page 20 of your manual. Juat add an external amp. I am using a Yamaha 1400 with an Adcom 7605. Works great. My receiver should last forever. Or, at least until I get the itch to upgrade.

oh, they do? i must've been looking in the wrong place, then.

what would adding an amp cost versus upgrading my reciever (i just bought it; i can still return it for an upgrade), and can hi-fi buys provide me with an amp and install it? cos i know nothing about hooking stuff up. okay, maybe i do, but i'm always afraid i'll break something.

Adding an amp is very easy to do. You must have missed my other post #26. Page 20 in your manual.

But, if you would just be paying the difference in an exchange, that might be a better move.

-4 polk audio RTi8 l/r speakers (two for front, two for surround)
-1 polk audio CSi5 centre channel.
-1 PSW10 subwoofer

i already have this yamaha (RX-V757) reciever hooked up to two of the left/right speakers, and hooked up to the subwoofer, and it sounds great.. will my reciever be enough to power this setup?
I read the above and pose - If you're intent on this set up, try it and see if it sounds good when played at levels you'd typically listen to it at. Run it a while, touch the top of receiver and as long as it isn't too hot to the touch (you can place your hand there without having to say ouch), you're probably ok.
Others may predict what you need, but this is just a forum where we all give opinions. As receivers go, I tend to think the Yamahas do pretty well for typical consumer grade stuff. I've had a 1400 for a couple of years and sometimes drive it pretty good powering some 6 ohm Monitor Audio speakers. Never felt it get "hot".
You've got a 2 year warranty on the receiver, so test it with the speakers. If you think it's getting kind of hot, you can always do as suggested and just buy an additional power amp to help out 2 of the channels.
