Will these do the trick

So I'm looking to get some pa speakers replacements for cheap hand-me speakers.

Reason I want PA is that I want these things loud, me and my freinds love to get em loud.

While taking a trip to radioshack for some PCB board, I stumbled upon these.

I'd like to pick up two of these soon:

I will use them with my Pioneer VSX - 815, and 100w per channel, they say 75w rms, and 150w peak, so I should be fine.

Also these:

I would get these later, when I could afford two of them.

I would have the channel for those, going out my pre-outs and into a 340w amp, which would be about 170w per channel, and the speakers are rated 150w.

Now both receivers are 8ohm, and so are the speakers, so I'm assuming this would work well.

Just a word of caution here. Play loud now; pay the price later when you have a meaningful hearing loss.

What's their sensitivity rating?

That will determine how "loud" they will be given a specified input.

Also, they are rated for75 watts RMS. While this is more than your amp can deliver, it still ain't a heckuva lot. That 200 watt figure is for momentary peaks.

Finally, if you do try to drive 'em "loud", you run the risk of over-stressing your amp. While this may or may not hurt the amp, the distortion levels produced could possibly harm the speakers.

PA speakers are designed to cover the maximum area with a limited frequency range, not necessarily for "loud".

Piezo tweeters usually suck big time, in part, because few understand how to properly match them. As a result, they'll probably do more hearing damage than play music.

Hmm, doesnt sound like these would be a good investment.

I guess I'll stick to buying used floor speakers at my local liquidation outlet lol.

Hey, they're cheap, and it doesnt matter if I blow em.

Yes, speakers are replaceable but your hearing loss is permanent:eek:
