Will "Nominal 6ohm" NHT Absolute Zero speakers work with a Denon AVR1610?

I have the NHT 2.5i's and I love them by the way :) however when I first had them I had a Denon AVR 3200 which was about 80 WPC with a preamp out .. as soon as I added extra power those things came alive.. the more power I give them the more they love it.

my 2 cents.. would be to find the nicest one you can afford with pre amp outs so that when you can afford it or want it .. you can add the additional amp.. if you spend your money on an AVR that has no upgrade path then you are for sure screwing yourself down the road.

I love buying used equipment I get alot more bang for my buck :) check out audiogon

good so far

i had a best buy 10% coupon so i picked up the AVR590 last weekend.

So far, it sounds just great. I've got a smallish room, which i'm sure helps. I have not noticed any heat issues with the amp.

System could use more bass, but that's another story.

thanks for all your advice.

The 1910 will give about .8dB output, or headroom but the differences are in the processing and features, more than output. In an 11' x 11' x 8' room, the power should be fine, even if loud is the goal. At some point, the reflecting sound will cause it to sound bad anyway, unless some treatment is done.

Move around the room and listen for changes in the bass- you could be sitting in a null for some bass frequencies.
