why safari 4 is terrible

Safari on the iPod is great. It runs smooth and renders pages very well. In my experience it is the perfect mobile browsing platform.

You all crack me up Safari and firefox both have always been at the front in terms of performance and innovation both leaving IE far behind. Safari 4 is without a doubt the best browser period. If you don't believe me, the proof is in the numbers below. Yes it crashes with me on this forum, however, that is the only flaw I have found so far. I am also sure it will get fixed sooner rather than later. Is it perfect? no. Do I use firefox too? yes. It is most certainly the best mac browser followed by Firefox. Before you all go off half cocked maybe you should do a little more research on the subject at hand. just a thought.

True enough, but I don't think you can say Safari is bad because of a bug that now seems to be fixed. Look at all the crashes and bugs windows users have lived with and nobody seems to mind, it's almost expected. If something sucks I will be the first one to point it out, but trashing something new without knowledge of what your even talking about is ignorant at best is my only point. Not that you did that yourself, but I mean in general.
