Answer: I have no idea. :p

I know for every friend I help in programming a new remote (on my rec), that they will never be without one again. They may or may not know it. Perhaps when they need a new one, it will become more obvious to them.

I will be programming a simple URC for another friend in the relatively near future. Least I can do since he's already agreed to help me insulate my garage door when that comes around, and some other knick knack, or two.

Yes a URC is the nicest thing since sliced bread :D I love how you can hit one button and it will turn on or off your display, AVR and BP all at once. Also being able to use it individually , whats really cool is I was really surprised how I could pretty much make any adjustment to my AVR with the harmony all options show up on the touch pad and can just scroll threw them . BTW im also loving my Pioneer Kuro "your first recommendation to me " great Display :) Your very knowledgeable and give great advice ! Thankyou :) P.S Are you going to insulate your garage for a HT ?

I love my harmony one remotes, they are awesome... I call them my magic wands lol. I just wish I too had gotten one sooner, being able to do everything from one remote is awesome, it's so customizeable, and it's learning feature is great too.

So am I the ONLY one here without a Harmony Remote?

I think they are WAY TOO expensive and I refuse to buy one!:D

They are expensive, but you can get them on sale from time to time, keep an eye on Amazon. A harmony one will change your life... you can even use it to control your htpc if you get a pc remote with an IR adapter... you can get those for $10 on ebay. You really do owe it to yourself to at least try one, you can always return it if you don't like it.

I am using a URC now and I am very pleased with it. Always been a fan of them since the MX500. The thing that is nice about the URC is that the codes are already in it, so you can pretty much program it without connecting it to the web. I was even surprised that it already had all the Oppo codes! :) It took me about 10 minutes to do and it works well - I did have to customize a little to get it the way I wanted, but it was painless. I upgraded to this one because my trusty RC2000MkII's LCD (which I have been using for at least 6 years) was damaged and started to have issues.

I bought a Harmony for my parents and they love it.

I just recently upgraded from an old 880 to the One in my family room and I like it a lot. But the upgrade is a mixed blessing. The 880 was a more compact design that would lay flat. The One is more spread out with better defined buttons. But the trade off is it's much larger and some buttons are a reach and it lays in a nose down position. It's so big that I wish that they had gone with a tail standing design and charging base.

I'm obviously in the market for that now. I have just changed my Rotel pre/pro which had a remote that made a decent universal remote. The remote on my Marantz AV 8003 I just installed and got up and running two days ago, has an awful remote. It could not be more obtuse. So I'm glad to know of your good report.

I also installed an Oppo BD 83. New pic.

What I don't understand considering these new units connect to your home network, why I can't control everything from my laptop. That would really have a big screen.

What ive been doing with mine is just leaving it in the cradle and then of course during a lights out movie like I did last night during testing it with it at my side lol but it seems pretty comfy to grab and control but then again im comparing it my other remotes and there's no comparison. I really like the touch screen :D

Ya there great remotes and very easy to program I was really worried that I would have problems programing it but it was super easy you just plug it in with a usb and just tell it what model # is of your components hec it even worked a 20 year old sony cd player that I couldnt find the remote for and tryed to just see  And it really easy to use I mean if I can use it anyone can lol .

Magic Wand lol thats a good one :D It is so nice not having my 5 remotes all lined up on my coffee table, now its just my H one at my side .

Yes you are the only one without one since last night before that I think it was just you and I :p Get one and you wont look back ! I felt the same way it was really hard for me to justify the price but I got a pretty good deal at frys.com for I think 168ish but now that I have it I would of payed more knowing how much I like it .

After purchasing mine, could not believe I spent that much on a remote. After setup and use it is one piece I will not do without.

nope. i don't have one.
It's just a remote control!

That's what I can't get over!:D

If it can improve the aesthetics of my system or improve my picture resolution from 1080p to 4K or improve sound quality or speed up my HTPC or internet or something, I would not have an issue.

But it's just a remote.

The one thing I use 95% of the time is my bluetooth keyboard/touch pad to control my HTPC.

I guess I just don't mind all the remotes.:D

i kinda don't like fumbling with my 3. but, i must have quick & easy access to a few buttons. and idk if the H1 can do that. otherwise, it would be great to have just one remote.
