Apparently it's not sone "guy on the internet" since he rights for a tech mag.

The article clearly lays out his journey and the requirements to get there. You haven't listed any of the gear you're complaining about and sounds like that's all you are interested in.

A 1k computer and 1k display would'nt likely be able to output then display the full color gaumet. If one wants TOL performance, one most have the gear to do so.
