LOL:) What a joke, Do they expect anyone do just take their word at face value. No test, no data, just " On par with most 12's we have tested" hahaha

I guess they are doing something right:confused: - I had just finished reading their review and was ready to confront my contractor who sujested in-wall subwoofer for my HT. My point is - if 500$ would do it - why waste more than a grand for something else? Are you saying those one that CNET ranked are POS?

The entire range of scores covered a whopping 0.6 on a scale of 10 for subs that range from $200 to $600 with power that goes from 50 to 650 watts.

Heck, the PSW10 is only 6% worse than the S-10 and less than half the price!

And heck.. the JBL offerred "mammoth sound." What else do you need besides mammoth sound?? Oh, you might want some deft control of the lowest octaves. It's got it all!

Sarcasm is good, but I just couldn't find any comparison charts on that site, or for that matter - anywhere else on the Net for the subwoofers. Any suggestions on where could I find orange to orange comparison?
I am trying to do my homework and CNET was always pretty good source of information for me - at least for the computer related equipment. And if they are saying that 500$ to 600$ subwoofer will do just fine - why not believe them? From what I understood, in the audio world at some point you'd have to pay 60-80% more for the 10-15% improvement in quality. I am not really a musician with the sensitive ears. All I need is a solid Toyota Camry version of a sub that would work better than average subwoofer for the reasonable amount of money. If someone is ready for a Ferrari - good luck and have a good time. I'd be just as happy with my generic version since I would not know any better. By the way - any suggestions as far as in-wall speakers?

EWWWWWW, PSW10!

My Velodyne DPS-12 review (which is up in the review section for reading ;) ) was better. Heck, even my Athena review was better.

That should get you started.

CNET is definitely not the source to use for A/V equipment. Those subs are a POS for the price at CNET. You're better off with a $150 Dayton, a $250 Cadence, or $399 for a HSU. For $500, you better be looking at the SVS PB10, because you're not going to get any type of in wall sub for $500 that's worth a ****.

The Infinity's a nice sub and probably the Aperion, but the review was marketing copy.

I'm selling my SVS PB10 to buy the Aperion Intimus S-10.

After all, this unit can fill a 400 sq. ft. room (3200 cu. ft) with "seismic, room-shaking performance".

Finally, my upgrade itch will be scratched. Mebbe I get TWO. Yippee!
