I am starting from nothing and would like to build a sub if it is worth it.I will be using the system for music and would like to have deep clean bass from a a 15" or 12" subwoofer.Any suggestions on what to shop for?Should I just buy a floor sub and if so what has the most bang for the buck?living room is 15' by 20'.

Price range? I'd look at the kits from www.rythmikaudio.com and www.partsexpress.com A buddy who is also here on AH has the 12" from Rythmik and I thought it sounded very good.

Parts express has some already built subs in that price range: the sub-100 and sub-120. They have one 15" kit, but I think it is around $300.

This was just what I was looking for,thanks. I've been looking for solutions for a few days now.Its hard to have patience but it will be worth it in the long run.What is the best step to take next provided I do buy this 15" inch sub from partsexpress?

unlike computers, you can buy good subs for the cost of building one these days
