Which would be better

Need a little advice here. I currently have a Yamaha RX-V659 receiver that I have problems with occasionally. Sometimes it will not turn on at all although I never have a problem with it turning off once it is on. After leaving it unplugged for over 12 hours it will turn on. I have banana plugs for termination so there isn't any lose/stray wires to short out. The unit is still under warranty so I will be sending it in and hopefully they can determine what is wrong. Just not looking forward to the downtime.
Lately, and much to my wifes displeasure, I've been thinking I need something better. I've been kicking around a couple of different ideas and not sure if they would be much different then what I currently have.
My first thought would be to add 2 or 3 monoblock amps like outlaw audios m2200 for the L/R or L/C/R speakers and keep the RX-V659 in service.
My second thought would be ditch the RX-V659 and get something like the Emotiva LMC-1/LPA-1 setup. I would then use the Yamaha for a future setup in the bedroom.
The room is about 20x15. The speakers are Rocket RS450s, soon to be 850's,RSC200 and RSS300's.Any opinions appreciated.

The Emotiva pre- and power amplifiers look very nice. The Outlaw power amps would give you more flexibility when deciding future upgrades. I don't know much about amplifiers, but I've heard that it's useful for an amplifier to be capable of doubling its power output with each halving of impedance. The Outlaws are specified as managing 300 watts at 4 ohms.

The Rockets don't look like a terribly hard load to drive, but that is a good size room. You will likely benefit from separate amplification with a larger, more stable power supply, especially if you like loud music or movies.

Now isn't the best time to get into a processor unless it's one of the newer models with HDMI 1.3a and some of the updated video processing. The last generation of processors were good in their day (months ago?) but have been supplanted by the new generation in features and ability. Hold onto the 659 until Emotiva comes out with their new line of pre/pros.
