Which SVS for 3850 cu. ft. room?

I'm trying to decide which sub to order from SVS. My choices are the PB12-plus/2, PB12-plus and the 20-39PC-Plus. Tom at SVS has suggested the PB12-plus/2 as the optimum sub for this room. He said the other 2 would work out ok if the sound was played back at 9-15dB under reference. My problem is with placement of the subs because of size. If I went with the PB12-plus/2 it would almost have to be placed center of a side wall. The PB12-plus would fit in a corner but the front edge would be about 6" from my main speaker (Paradigm Studio Monitor 100). The 20-39PC-Plus would fit fine in the corner. If the 20-39PC-Plus seemed lacking a little I could always buy another one later. Any input from someone using these subs in a room close to this size would really help my decision. Tom has been very helpful with this answering all my emails over the last week. Matter of fact, his last email was sent 12:40 this morning.

My room is larger than that and their recommendation was the same. I already have a PB-10 though, so his second suggestion was to just get another one to stack on top of it.

You won't find the 20-39 plus lacking. Their cylinder subs are every bit as good as their box subs. Those are their bread and butter subs, and until about a year ago, cylinders were all that they offered. For the floor space, that's what I would go with in your case.

Go with what Tom told you. They never over sell. Customer Service is priority with them.

O, and the PB12-Plus/2 is a beast

I had similar issues with a large room when buying my sub, and what I learned from a variety of sources that I needed the max headroom (i.e. 2 12's vs 1) to fill up the room with bass. I went with the PB12-ISD/2 and am totally happy with it. You probably will be too if you go with the upgraded plus version!:D
