I'm currently trying to decide whether to sell my Mirage 890i's bipolars, and replace them with Psb T-55's or Axiom's M-60's. I'm using a Pioneer Elite 53tx as my receiver. Any idea's as to which set-up would be best as I would also upgrade my center and surround's. Thanks for your advice.

owning a pair of T45s. I prefer PSB's warmer sound to that of the brighter Axioms. Both are very revealing speakers and are well made but in the end, I choose the PSBs. I never ever get tired to listening to them and they engage me and draw me into the music or the sound of a movie.

45's or 55's?

Thanks 3db, what size is your room that you are listening to your 45's in, mine is about 15 x 12.5 wondering if the 55's are over all a better purchase if I go that route, as I will not have a subwoofer for awhile. I agree about Axioms they seem a bit too bright will have to listen to them again some how. I owned psb's in the early 90's 40MKII's and enjoyed them alot so I'm leaning that way again if I replace my 890's.

before I forget, my room is 16' x 12' and my T45s have no problem with the bass when it comes to music. However, for HT, I do need the sub becuase the T45s just don't have the grunt to make HT sound sensational. But I also think that the T55 won't give you the grunt you are looking for either. If you check the specs out between the two, the T55 bottom end surpasses the T45 by 2 to 3 Hz. Thats not enough to pass up on a sub. Is it worth the extra $150 for that little more extension? Only you can answer that. To me, I would take that $150 savings and put it towards the price of a sub.

Onix floorstanders

Check out the new Onix Rocket 450's that are a similar to the Axiom M60's.
Also, if you are looking for a full range speaker without a sub, they are working on a floorstanding version of the X-LS speakers that will be a MTM design with powered woofers for about $600.
