I would be using this for a small game room/ small office. It would be primarily for playing retro games, and all last gen systems as well (ps2/xbox/gc). Which one would you go with? I'm a price performance kinda guy, i don't need the absolute best, but like to get the best for my money. =)

Front & Center Speakers:

Boston VRC Center speaker

Boston VR2 for front Speakers (was thinking of picking these up for my main HD system in the living room. Are they all that better than the smaller ones listed below?

Front or Back Speakers:

Boston CR67 pair front or back speakers

Boston Bravo II front and rear speakers

Boston CRC7 Front and back speakers

Thanks for your help it is appriciated!

regards,

welcome,
as alond as esthitics permit, the vr would be better for the mains and center. If you going to use the rears as effects only and not multichanel music, the bravos will be fine. Have you demoed any other brands other than ba?

Why are you limited to just these models?
Why not just listen to each of them before you buy?

Have you look at other speakers? budget?

I did a quck look at the VR2 ( about $300/pair) and it got a pretty good review. The center VRC (about $300, got a tinny review) Are you limited to Boston speakers or do you want to consider other choices? There are a lot of speakers in your price range about $1000 for the system, right? If I am wrong how much is your budget and forum members can help better.

The best thing to do is pick out several models you think you would like and audition them.

Good Luck

Don't buy based on reviews only! Go and listen to as many as you can.

I once auditioned the VR2s. My impression was that they had an extremely wide soundstage, my favorite aspect. I was disappointed in what I believe must've been the x-over, as timbre/forwardness seemed to change with frequency.... but who knows how much the room was contributing.

In all, if they really can be had for $300, that's most likely an excellent deal. I remember some blemished/open-box, or something, VR2s from OneCall were offered, but the exorbitant shipping prices pretty much ate up the savings.
