I think soundbars are a waste of money but you obviously disagree. I just said it is your money. You can spend it as you see fit. No point in trying to convince me soundbars are good. I'm not going to be convinced.
What would you recommend for a bedroom? Full 5.1 system with a receiver?

You obviously can't say that a sound bar isn't a dramatic step-up from built-in sound.

Then why are you in a thread about soundbars if you think they shouldn't be around? So yeah just get out already since you have already made your opinion known and it doesn't bring anything to the conversation.

Like I already said if this was the living room I would be glad to spend the money and pick up a used AVR+5.1 speakers like the Elac debut series. BUT this is a bedroom where such a setup is a bit to much and a soundbar does make perfect sense.

Both Focal and DT make soundbars that are a huge step up from most TV speakers.

Atlantic Technology, ZVOX and PSB make really good soundbars and sound better than all TV speakers I have ever heard.

I researched these in detail recently as I was considering giving my wife the main room back and moving all my gear into a spare bedroom and just having a Display and a SB in the Main room.

I responded to your statement. Did your statement add anything to the conversation? But no problem, I'll go away

Are they available for under $300?

I think you're extremely uninformed and inexperienced either modern TVs, soundbars, or both, then. It's the only possible explanation. In all honesty and seriousness.

What you are saying here is, simply and truly, completely ridiculous.

I don't know as price doesn't enter into my equations with most things.

He said I couldn't say it. So I said it. I accepted a challenge.
