Greetings everyone I’m looking at buying from the Yamaha Soavo range.

First of all I know nothing about speakers, so I know I know nothing about speakers :D To be honest I’m stuck at a crossroad comparing the 900m’s & Soavo2’s getting nowhere. So I’m hoping the experience of some serious sound experts.

I’m departing to Thailand for a business trip as well as a bit of shopping!! Now Yamaha are exactly 60% cheaper at a minimum compared to Hi-Fi dealers in Australia unlike Kef, Paradigm, etc which are about equal in price.

EDIT: B&W & Klipsch ARE also Cheaper SLIGHTLY In Thailand too!

The meaning of the speakers life will consist of playing, Neo Classical and Classical music, such as Jascha Heifetz, Ithak Perlman, Requiems, Masses, Movie Scores, Klezmer and Some Metal Like Pantera and Yngwie J Malmsteen, Jason Becker and 1080p Movies (a very Broad Range!)

I have a small budget of $1000AU and a limit of 20KG to bring back to AU

Should I spare the extra $200 and buy 1 pair of Soavo2 for the front L&R and nothing else?

Or could I get away with 2 Soavo 900M’s for the Front L&R plus a Centre Speaker like a Soavo 900C. But my thought process tells me that the 900M are surround speakers, and designed & engineered for nothing else but rear surround sound effects, not the full spectrum of music, theatre and movies. Would I be correct assuming this?

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
