Which receiver with paradigms?

Hey all, just bought some used Paradigm Monitor 7's, Atoms, a CC-150 center, and a fisher powered sub. (see thread linked)

http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59361

Any suggestions on a receiver? I only have around $200 to spend, so I could go with a budget/refurb deal online or wait and try and get one used locally (yay craigslist). I have no idea what brands/wattages play nice with Paradigms, kind of new to home audio, more of a pro audio/music background.

Thanks! :)

They are 8ohm load and 94dB efficiency. About any receiver should be able to drive them.

Try to find a 650 series Yamaha receiver. That would be a good bet on a bargain receiver.

Best of luck.

I'd go Onkyo or Yamaha in your price range, and if used/refurb, Marantz (see link). See if you can get last year's models at a discount if possible. I've had good luck with www.ac4l.com with refurbs and even discounted old models that are still new.

You could look for a used/refurbed onkyo 605 if your interested in hdmi.
A better sub would really take that system to the next level. Something like an a2-300 from elemental designs could be in your future. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_41&products_id=407

If your not interested in bells and whistles like hdmi, you could just get a used 7 channel receiver with dolby digital and DTS codecs.

Thanks for the suggestions. Keep 'em coming if you got 'em. Also, I'm not sure I understanding the bi-amp wiring diagrams in the manual. Can somebody explain to me how I would wire up the left/rights with only a single amp?

With a typical receiver, I wouldn't see that as necessary and biamping with a receiver usually doesn't result in considerable benefit anyway. True bi-amplification is a bit more complex.

If you mean there are two black and two red connections on the terminal there should be a metal shim that bridges them. Just leave it in place and connect to one set of the red/black.

There are thin strips of gold metal that kind of hook around the binding posts at the base. Is that what you mean? Sorry I've never owned a speaker with binding posts before.

Correct, simply leave those in place.

How does everyone feel about these?

Pioneer VSX 818V-K (available locally, $150)
Onkyo TX SR701 - ebay, hopefully ~$175
Pioneer VSX-45TX Elite - ebay, a longshot for my budget, but I could get lucky
