Which receiver Onkyo 876 or Denon 3310(990)?

Both receivers are about $1,200 at various internet stores. I would be using to watch and listen to HD/SD content on my DVR with my soon to have 55LH90 55" 1080p LED LG TV and blu-ray player.

I am sure both units will sound great. What is important to me is:

1- HD Picture quality and up res from SD content.
2- Ease of setup
3- Ease of use
4- Listen to pandora.com (do I need Onkyo 906 instead?) either directly or through my iphone
5- Future upgradeability?

Seems like the Denon is a more "elegant" solution, Onkyo more power/features? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!

Get the best display you can if this important
2- Ease of setup
Both are easy, Denons manual is a PIA
3- Ease of use
equal
4- Listen to pandora.com (do I need Onkyo 906 instead?) either directly or through my iphone
I would give the nod to the denon
5- Future upgradeability?
Niether

Addressing PQ should come from the display, not the receiver;) At the street price of the LG, Id look at a pannasonic plasma

Onkyo TX-SR876 = +1 :)

:) Best overall.

* I know, that's the one I'm using. :) No need for the 906, unless you really want some restricted Network features and a round transformer instead of a square one. ;) The 876 is only $899.99 and the 906 is $1,249.99 (the 876 is definitively the best value, you save $350).

Cheers,

Bob

Too bad you missed out on a brand new Onkyo 876 last night for $750. That was a steal. Keep your eyes open at fatwallet or slickdeals.

WoW! Only $750! Like you said, that was a real steal of a deal.
Heck, I paid more than that for my 805.

Someone out there must be very happy. :)

LotR, Hell yeah....I almost jumped on it. But my dumb azz is soo damn set on the Emotiva XPA 5. Now if only Emotiva would have some damn sale. I hope I won't regret not jumping on it.

OP, my vote is on the Onkyo as well. What turns me away from Denon is their set up seems to be a pain in the butt.

how does the 876 work for that streaming thingy?
Well, he can always wait for the next TX-NR1007 (or is it called the TCH-SR1007?). :D

* By the way, that's the new replacement for the TX-SR876.

And by that time, the TX-NR906 should cost only about $1,000 ;)

** Good point though. :)
