Both of the Onkyo receivers are selling locally in excellent condition, and I am trying to choose between them.
The HT-R340 is quite a bit newer and costs $50. The specs show max THD of 0.7%, power output into 8 Ohms of ~100W, and frequency response 10Hz-50kHz +1/-3 db.
The TX-SV535 is a few years older and goes for $40. The specs on this one show max THD 0.08%, power output ~ 85W into 8 Ohms for 2-ch mode and 65/65/65/25/25 W for 5-ch mode into 8 Ohms, and frequency response 20Hz-30kHz +1/-1 db.
I am leaning toward the HT-R340 because it seems like a better deal, a more modern unit, with more power and features. On the other hand, the SV535 seems to be a worthy competitor with lower distortion spec.
Any thoughts in favor of or against either unit?
