Which is the Better set up connection

I have a Sony 75 inch 950G and a Denon x3600h AVR. My installer connected all my devices, including the AVR into the TV's inputs. With regard to best picture/sound quality, is this connection the best versus having everything run through the AVR as the hub? I'm a novice so bear with me but my understanding was having the AVR as the Hub and all devices runing into the AVR inputs was always best. Under current connection my understanding is the Denon's only purpose is supplying the amp power. Perhaps it doesn't matter but any/all, please educate me! If relevant, I have B&W M1 speakers and a PV1D subwoofer

AVR is the best hub.
If both AVR and TV have eARC it doesnt really matter if it works well. If either only support ARC, or eARC is not working well/unstable see first statement.

Your component connection is vague and we need more information about it and the rest of your components. The AVR is the hub, not the display. Could it be that the installer connected all the inputs to the AVR and then ran an HDMI out from the AVR to the HDMI input of the TV?

If any of your components might require upconverting for best picture opportunity, then the one with the best upconverter should be where it routes. For simplest ease of operation, it should all go through the AVR then into the Tv with one single HDMI cable - assuming the AVR listed puts out 4K. If not, then everything straight to the TV is correct.

I believe having the TV process the video signals makes the most sense, and connecting your Denon HDMI monitor on ARC to the ARC input on the TV allows the receiver to process the audio signal. I have my LG OLED C8 hooked up the same way, to my Onkyo TXRZ830. This way the video signal only gets processed 1 time.

AVR’s won’t process any video unless they’re set to do so. IMO there’s no reason to go directly to the display.

That would depend if he needs the processor in the receiver to process more sources than what the TV handles, and at what resolution and Hz. I believe the Sony has the new X1 processor, which is pretty good.

Not sure if I follow. If the AVR is set to pass through, the display will still do the processing. Not sure what the AVR would be more capable of doing than the display.

My TV does not have enough inputs, so I had to put everything into the AVR. We have a DVD recorder, Blu-ray player, and DISH box. Peace and goodwill.
