Which Home Theater Receiver?

Which brand has the best reputation and is most up to date? I am considering the Denon 4310($1,600 on sale), the Marantz 6004
($1,249), Onkyo 5007($2,000 on sale)or maybe a receiver from Pioneer Elite or Yamaha. I will be using 60% for music and 40% for HT so music is more important. My front speakers are Paradigm Studio 100 V5. If anyone can shed some light on any of these receivers I would appreciate it. I will also be buying a Blu ray player by the same company.

Thanks in Advance

Hello, and welcome to the forum. All of the receivers you mention are very nice in their own regard. However, many times I have read that the Marantz receivers are very good with musical applications. Thus, since music is a priority to you my vote would have to go to the Marantz. However, I really don't see how you could go wrong with any of the ones you listed imho. Good luck in your decision. Make sure whichever one you go with will have the features you desire. ;):);) The Paradigm Studios are absolutely amazing. Great choice!

Cheers,

All good choices, listen and choose what you like. I have the Pioneer Elite SC-07 with studio 100 v.2's, it was a good choice for me.

My suggestion though, is to buy a Blu-ray that has a good review and not to just match your system. I went with the Oppo BDP-83 and it is a nice piece of equipement.

That Yamaha Z11 on the Audioholics store @ 50% off = $2,500 + free S/H looks mighty good to me.:D
