I’m afraid I can’t say I’d agree with costly racks like these too much dosh to shell out and it doesn’t look anything like what I was expecting. I did however vote black without hesitation.

Well the last picture looked ok, except how much did it cost I mean it doesn’t hold a lot three items at best, I’m looking more towards the professional PA market and some of the racks I’ve seen and at the silly low prices I’m more than tempted for that professional look with the pro gear amps and DCX2496 racked up neat and tidy.

The rack, like virtually any other I've ever seen is modular. What you see is all that is required to suport the AV amp (barely), the Universal player and the centre speaker. It'd look rather silly if I added the other five shelves wouldn't you say?

Cost for the entire rack, made by Target, which I believe went into liquidation years ago, was ~£300 about 10 years ago.

£300.00 pounds for that worthless, no thanks I’ve got better common sense than to blow £300.00 pounds for a few shelves, I can get better than that at B&Queer DIY store.

I remember a friend buying a glass TV stand with support to hold just about every thing from the Yamaha AVR SONY DVD player the Yamaha multi CD player the one of those worthless Sky digital boxes and that was just about it. The stand saw around 44” long and 24” high and about 22” in depth. I think he paid something like £250 to £300 pounds for it.

Good for you! Except that:

1. Common sense is irrelevant.
2. You're mistaken if you believe you'll get better at B&Q.

I agree. Neither silver nor black compares with the beauty and "warmth" of real wood. I recommend getting solid real wood (not simply wood veneer).
