which are better the iQ9 or the iQ90?

Hello,

I am about to buy a pair of second hand iQ9s at half the price (also iQ6c and iQ3), however i heard that my dealer will soon have the new iQ90s. Are they any better than the iQ9s (besides the improved stability due to the base)? Do they worth the extra buck and the wait?

in my opinion any speaker with a base has got better isolation as long as it has been designed properly. And kef do design things properly so i would expect you get better base isolation with the IQ90's than with the IQ9. Then again i have listened to the IQ9 and they were pretty good but i have not seen or heard the new versions yet

just for some price comparisons, you might want to take a look at one call, bunch of KEF stuff for good prices. They carry over 100 KEF products, and for a lot of them they offer free shipping.

I agree with josten, it may be worthwhile to check out onecall and vanns.com. Both have various KEF models for about 50% off, and are returnable if you haven't heard them and end up not liking them for some reason. I actually ordered a pair of IQ5's and an IQ2 to replace my Cambridge SW on Sunday from Onecall, they shipped out yesterday and should be here before the end of the week.

The IQ90's are probably just too new for anyone to have heard them yet. Of course being the newer version, you'd like to believe they're better, but just by how much isn't going to be known for a little while yet.

New QX20 is a pretty big bookshelf.

Also the new QX30 midtower.

i'll look into the big bookshelf, but what i meant by midtower was like the studio 40 - i kinda don't have the space for floorstanding towers.
