Where's the quintessential hello world 101 how to build a speaker thread (for ht)?

I searched this group on the forum but didn't see anything that had the absolute beginner guide, how to build a speaker, from very beginning to end. I don't think anyone owes that. I was more hoping for it.

My application is home theater. Is that something I'm just better off buying? I mean I have tools and some skill set. I've seen parts-express but....

Also, please, am I crazy to think I could save money building things myself?

You would use an already done design. You can either go from schematic or purchase a kit.
