Where to position surrounds

I have been trying to figure where to place my side and rear surrounds in my room but have room across a problem.

First of all my setup is a Denon 3806 with monitor 9's in front and adp-370 dipoles for all surrounds (7.1). The problem I am having is the room layout.

I have a long and narrow room (40'*15'*7') with the two 40' walls being concrete. The tv is placed in a corner (I know, terrible location but I can't help it) and the main listening position is about 10' away from the tv against the opposite wall (L couch). The side and rear surrounds are all going to be mounted on the side (40') walls.

I am having difficulty trying to figure out the optimum position for the surrounds. I don't think I will be able to hear the right side surround from this seating position no matter where I place it . Anybody have any ideas? Should I place the side surrounds slightly in front of me and the rear surround behind me? I have attached the layout of my basement.

Thanks

Just a suggestion. Pull your sectional couch out a bit from the wall toward the TV if possible.

Your right surround will go on the wall about 10-20 degrees back from "front" as you face the TV.

The left surround will go on a stand behind the couch, 10-20 degrees back from "front" as you face the TV.

Both surrounds ideally are higher than your head level when seated if your main application is home theater. If you do mainly multi-channel music (DVD-As or SACDs) then at head level or just slighly higher.
