Where to mount main satellite speakers?

As pictured, I built an entertainment center in my basement and have 3 TV's, 2 55" on each side and a 75" in the middle. I have a Denon receiver and bought the Monoprice HT-35 speakers as an entry-level 5.1 system with satellite speakers measuring 7.5" tall and 6.3" when laid on their side. The way the TV's are mounted, there is no room above the left tv because of a dryer vent soffit. Ideally, that's where I'd want to mount it. I could mount it horizontally in that space. I don't believe the HT-35 speaker will be affected much with a horizontal mount, do you? Otherwise, I could do location 1, 2 or 3. Layout 2 isn't my favorite because the right speaker seems like it would be an eyesore from that side of the room. Layout 3 also seems like it would stick out and be prone to my kids messing around with them. Layout 1 is the best choice if I'm not installing them horizontally. Would love any feedback. No need to judge my monoprice speakers or anything else, just some advice on speaker placement. Thank you.

Yes, that will be massively affected by turning them 90 degrees. It will rotate the lobing sonic distribution pattern through 90 degrees. I can't begin to imagine why you want three TVs. I can't help but remark that it looks an absolute fright.

Thanks for the judgmental comment. Super helpful! By the way, love your studio, especially your gnarly CD collection and your VCR. Surprised your mom let you do that to the basement, but otherwise killer setup dude!

There's something wrong with having each of my kids play their video games while I watch a football game.
Not at all and he didn’t intend that in any way, I’m sure. For good sound it’s not optimal with your three screens.

The answer to your question is likely "Layout 3 is best. Speakers should be mounted in the orientation they are designed for, rotating them generally changes the sound, often drastically."

But your question (and thus any answer to it) is almost pointless, to be honest, and this has absolutely nothing to do with judging your equipment or layout.

I think most of us understand just fine that we all work with the options we have. But you've excluded one option solely because it needs deeper wall brackets, narrowed possible answers down to just three options (why, we have eyes?) and indicated clear preferences based solely on aesthetics and practicality.

You've offered no information in regards to the sound. What is this going to be used for? Exclusively for movie watching, or does it have to sound good for music too? How's the room layout and dimensions? Where's the seating? How many people watching? Etc. What kind of sound levels are we talking? Reference? Loud? Quiet?

And the question you ask is, what is the better option - presumably (given you posted it on Audioholics) in terms of sound quality.

You finally conclude your post by essentially saying "don't answer anything I didn't ask", to which my post is obviously one big fail as well, but I feel like it has to be said (written) if any of this is to have any point what so ever.

Otherwise, we might as well just post "Here's the affirmation you're looking for, never mind what's actually correct, do exactly what you suggested." In my opinion that defeats the entire point of asking a question to begin with.

I hope you'll see the constructive intention behind this post, but if not, feel free to just call me a jerk and get it over with - no point in searching the forums for content to scold someone over, it's (ironically) really judgemental when you think about it.

I like layout 2, except with the speakers on the countertop at each end. This will give the best separation between the left and right channels, not to mention having all the speakers on the same horizontal plane will mean smooth center-to-side pans. Your boys look old enough to leave Dad’s things alone if told. :)

@Jason27 I agree with Wayne. Option 3 has the speakers too close to the center speaker which will cause interference. You can set them on the cabinet but move them further apart. If your sons will be blocking the speakers, that might be a valid reason to move them higher as in option 2. Do not mount them horizontally per the reason TLS Guy provided.
