Are they authorized to sell new and reconditioned or just reconditioned Marantz? If its both that is a huge change in policy by Marantz and I suspect will drastically effect there distribution to B&M dealers I will get the details at CEDIA when I talk to them Love their product I suspect it will get even better now that they are under the Denon roofAccessories For Less is an authorized Marantz dealer (online). I called Marantz USA and they confirmed.
New policy regarding this. Now that Marants is owned by DM there have been some changes. For starters that "universal" warranty I was promised before I spent my money no longer applies in North America, but it still does in Europe. There is a whole story behind this that I think I told before but here it goes again: Marantz was being distributed in Canada by a company that seemed to be out to make the most money possible. They actually sold Marantz products to chain stores like 2001 Audio/Video without letting their small specialty shops know that they were going to do so. Of course small shops can't compete pricewise with chain stores so they stopped carrying Marantz Products. Then Marantz was sold to DM and things started changing. No more big chain stores, no more universal warranty, but at least the website works and is up to date now.I believe someone had mentioned that Marantz is one of the few that honors warranty in the USA or Canada. It doesn't stop at the border. You can just buy in the US and bring it over. For a few hundred $ it would be worth the drive. You'll need to double-check with Marantz.
So why take the risk and save a couple bucks by buying online?I can vouch for unitedonlineshipping. I recently bought a 59avi from them that turned out to be a bad unit. They had the "can do" attitude to do whatever it took to make me happy (VERY RARE). They were also willing to pay to ship me another 59avi (ALSO VERY RARE).
They have both new and "Factory Certified" Marantz equipment on their website. I asked in the Beginners Forum (a while back) if anyone had any experiences with them. I got only minimal feedback, so I called Marantz USA direct to make sure they were an "authorized" dealer -- I didn't want to get burned if I had a warranty issue. Marantz confirmed they were OK. I did not ask if they were authorized for new and reconditioned -- I guess I didn't think it mattered (again, they have both new and Factory Certified on their website).RLA said:Are they authorized to sell new and reconditioned or just reconditioned Marantz?
