Where is a good place to go to audition loudspeakers?

A lot of the stores around me are the big chain B&M stores like Best Buy that don't offer an evironment conducive to critical listening. On top of that, they all want to push HTIB solutions on customers.

I live in the greater Pittsburgh area (Wexford -- 15090 zip code) so if anyone knows some good places around there I'd be interested. I suppose I wouldn't mind driving out of Allegheny county to go somewhere if need be, but I'd like to keep the range within the state of Pennsylvania. :p

B&M Stores

The "Brick and Mortar" stores are the smaller A/V dealers and installers as opposed to "Big Box" sotes like BB and CC.
Look for some B&M stores in your area bring your own demo material. They should have brands like Paradigm, PSB, Klipsch Reference, etc.

Not sure about your area, but good audio stores used to be common here and are now extremely rare. The big box stores and the internet have almost made them extinct.

Try the yellow pages under stereo, home theater, audio equipment etc. and you may find a local small store. Also if you are looking for a particular brand of audio, some brand websites will give you a list of dealers closest to your zip code. I know the Antony Gallo website does this and there are probably others.
