I have a different opinion of what speakers matter most. Regardless of whether the application is 2 channel music or HT, the most important speakers will always be your left/right main speakers. If you have a great pair of main l/r speakers with great imaging capabilities, then you can even do without the center channel for HT on the caveat that your listening position from center doesn't vary more than 20 degrees. I found that first hand while preparing my house for a move and I had to remove the center channel from HT system. I never missed it at all but my listening was 0 degrees of center.

I like what you did with your space. Very nice, :)

Thanks everyone for the comments on the setup and also your experiences. I was watching Band of Brothers on Blu-ray last night, and I still think the weakest link sonically is my mains. I just don't like their pronounced mids.......I really notice it when listening to 2-channel music.

I might audition some bookshelf speakers, and also see how I like the CM8s. Again, I don't have a huge space and my subwoofer handles bass nicely, so I'm torn between getting bookshelf speakers or small floorstanding speakers.

Do most bookshelf speakers come with a way to secure them to the stands? My stands didn't come with anything to secure them with, and my 685s don't have anything for that either.
