When is the Yamaha RX-A2000 going back on sale?

My AVR sets on the lower shelf with 6" of open air space above it and 2 1/2"

on each side. I purchased two 6" plastic fans with the spring clamps on the end and cut open the back of my cabinet and have the fans blowing across the top of the AVR(from the rear) and have plugged into back of AVR. If AVR is on fan is on. I have a second fan and moved it to blow behind the Revox R2R that sets on top of cabinet. It is a mess of wires behind the cabinet/fatt screen stand. DVD, Bluray and CD players, R2R and Verizon Fios 2 subs and 5 pairs of speaker wires.Wii and Yamaha Ipod docking station........gives me a head ache.

I was talking about extra "Head Room" in the amp sections...reserve of power not being used when watching Blurays.:)
Yea I got what you mean on that with the amp, I was noticing as I read your post about my literal spacing situation. I think I am going to go with the A1000. I will not be going 9.2 anytime soon, but most likely 7.1 when I upgrade. Plus the 25w is not going to make a large difference. I will just get a Emotiva 3 channel for the front sound stage and use it when i upgrade speakers.

OK I just noticed those JBL only require 70 WPC you will be fine with A1000.
I bet you will be happy with the A1000 amps. 5.2 works in my small den. Watch a Bluray and a hour into it place your hand on top of the AVR. Then buy a 12 dollar fan (Walmart) Big Difference. Enjoy your Yamaha.

That's the same conclusion I came to since I don't really want the extra A2000 features (video, RSC, etc). The A1000 seems to have a better sale price point as well so we'll see what happens now the new models are coming out. If I do need more power, an external amp gives way more power at only a slightly higher cost.

Great deal.. Ebay was $636.00 shipped new in box, I year warranty was the best I found. There are still a lot of them new for sale. Most were over $750.00 new. Post up how you like it, neighbor is getting the HT/HD Bluray itch. He watched a Bluray movie over here today in HD audio and his old Bose cubes have to go he said.:D

FYI... Just so you know, the A1000 only has Global bass management. Meaning you cannot set different crossover values for different speakers. This may not be an issue for you. I like to set my fronts at 60hz & the rest at 80hz. However, most people use a single value i.e 80hz (THX)

Just thought id throw that out in case you didnt know & in case thats important to you. Otherwise the A1000 is a GREAT AVR!!

Already reported. It's comforting to see that something's never change - including forum bots. :)
Looks like the post I was responding too is gone. I guess I wasn't the only one who thought it was odd.

Oh ok i read the creepy response & thought you were referring to something in my post. I was bummed thinking something i posted was misread or came across wrong. I never saw the post you were referring to. But if it was creepy then im glad it was removed. Anyways back to topic, any of the top 3 in the Aventage line have my utmost respect!!

Does the A1000 read WAV or FLAC files? Thanks.
Google the A1000 and click on the Yamaha site and click on "Features" or "Specs" I have no idea but all that info is on the Yamaha factory site. I have a RX-V1900 HD AVR.super Happy with HD Blurays again. I also looked on the Yamaha site before I purchased another HD AVR looking for firmware updates.none on my unit...a good thing, no issues.

As far as I can tell, Yamaha does not indicated FLAC or WAV or other file capabilities on their site.....does anyone know if the 1000 can do them?

Yes, both wav (PCM) and flac are supported for USB interface playback.
