And to be honest with you, once I got the TV in place, it's quite a bit bigger than I expected, given my viewing distance which is about 7-10Ft away from the TV. Thus far, I cannot be happier with the purchase!
Its a common mistake to think bigger is better all the time. I've seen a lot of 50" plasmas set up closer than 10'. I think they look terrible. The 42" look a lot better at that distance.

I haven't heard too many good things about the LG plasmas. Not that I've heard a lot of bad, just not much good. I can't speak from experience, but it seems to me like they should spend less money on advertising (which is quite good) and more on their products.

I have a LG lcd in my bedroom and a Panny Plasma in my living room.

I wish I had 2 pannys. The PQ on the Panny is 10 times the LG even on SD

I've heard LG's LCD panels are pretty decent. Don't they use LG panels for Dell's 20"+ LCD screens? Rather decent I'd say.

My LG isn't bad it is just not as good as my Panny. I do have an LG refrigerator that I love and I have one of their DVD players that seems to be ok.

I setup an LG DVD recorder/VHS upconverting combo player for a customer recently and I must say that it fed one of the most amazing DVD pictures I have seen to the Sony 50A2000. It did an equally amazing job with VHS tapes. I have never seen VHS look that good on an HD set.

Hmm... are you writing fiction with your mouth? ;)

Thanks for the opinions, all. I'm personally leaning towards a Panasonic or a Pioneer. Although I am quite pleased with my LG cell phone...:D

hi i am looking for a new 42in panel i am leaning to a panny plasma, anyone have any other ideas, and if a panny what model they have like 4 different models, also like, hitachi also any help will be great,
Panny commercial series. No tuner, no bells and whistles. Just the bare bones. They are super thin and look awesome. Less expensive as well. Most picture-looking frame unit there is. Most people use a cable box or sat box anyways as a tuner. Several certified e-tailers as well. A couple sponsored here and you may get a discount just for being an AH member. Good luck.
