what's comparable from klipsch to the polk monitor series?

Was looking at the polk monitor 70 (front), cs-2 (center), and monitor 40 (rear). All for right at $530.

What is a comparable line from klipsch? I can go demo them but was wondering ifit's the syntergy or refrence?

I would worry less about which line and demo any/all the speakers that you are considering. I used to have the Klipsch Synergy F-3's and a friend had the RF-82's. I'm sure someone will stone me for this comment, but I didn't think the Reference line was substantially better than the Synergy (at least not for the extra $). It all comes down to the sound that you prefer and what is in your price range. Remember, you are the one who is going to be listening to them so your opinion counts more than anyone else's.

In my experience with both brands, in the models you’re looking at, they all have a bright top end. This can be alluring in that they bring out a “crisp” sound and a lot of detail, but after extended listening this can lead to listener fatigue. It effects some people more than others - some not at all, but it should be considered.

I've been using Klipsch speakers for years. The fatigue usually comes in at higher listening levels so they are fine at more moderate levels. I couldn't recommend anything from Polk or Klipsch in good conscience. At whatever price point, there are better speakers available.
