What's a luddite to do?

I really like my SR6001. Maybe I should just stick with playing it as I am - it sounds fine. But I like the tweaks. The manual clearly assumes I know more than I do.
Can anyone direct me to a reference source which might help me fill the chasm between where I am and where I need to be to better realize the potential of this receiver?
Here is an example - when I have the receiver on, the display reads "Dig.5 - AT". If this is what the display reads whenever I have it on, I figure I need to know what it means. The biggest concern is that it indicates a setting which would compromise the sound of my application (which is 100% audio). I downloaded the manual in pdf form and searched for Dig. 5 and variations thereof. All I get is "Dolby Digital 5.1". Is this what the display is indicating? Is this a problem for stereo? (I do have it set to stereo elsewhere).

While I would appreciate help on this specific question, I hope there might be a reference document on the net which I can use to bridge the gap!

Good morning. I don't know if there's a reference source for that sort of thing, but I can give you some information.

Based on the manual for the 6001, there are five digital inputs (named Dig.1 through Dig.5 according to page 9). So, my guess is that you have your source component connected to one of the digital audio inputs that is probably labeled as "Dig.5" by default.

The "AT" might stand for automatic surround mode, but I'm not sure about that. I'll let you know if I find out.

You can always select different input sources and different surround modes to see how the front display changes. That's a good way to find out what the different messages mean.
