OK, Im going to start piecing together a loud out door set up for my yard, next years parties, I will put the amplifier in my HT audio rack and run wire to an outside plug {Ill use a regular 220v outlet plug and put a plug end on the speakers {the 220 has a sideways leg, so no one plugs them into 120 by accident}...

For an amp Im thinking Crown xls 2000 and for speakers Im thinking a pair of JBL JRX115???? Anything better for the money out there or would this be ideally the best setup for around $1000?
I have a 3 acre lawn, and I know next year we have a wedding party planned {a friend of my wife asked if we would host the reception {although, I think my wife offered before she asked, but thats for a different thread}, plus we always have a few parties anyway..

PS I realize the dj will bring his own gear for the wedding, but if my wife is allowed to have weddings here, I need some new speakers....

Loud and inexpensive...

You could build a pair of Pi Fours, make 'em as yard-proof and SWMBO-approvable with the finish as you can, and have the workshop/garage/basement ready for when they aren't doing outside duty. They will require some gluing, screwing, and finishing on your part, but they are legit performers. I'd rather have Pi fours than just about any commercially available pa speaker (the cheap ones, at least).

The SEOS projects mentioned are probably even better value proposition than the Pi four, worth a look for sure.

Better watch out if you do the diy route. You may find one of these suggested designs puts your Lores to shame, sending them out to the garden.;)

And avoid mdf for anything that will see the outdoors, commercial or diy.

I'm sure the above recs are probably spot on, and my input here more than doubles said budget, but I like this vid. :D LOUD, make sure to watch until the end. The speakers sitting on top are the smaller version, the T12s have an even higher sensitivity btw.

You beat me to it!
We really have no reference for how loud is loud on the recording, but when I hear loud and outside, this video comes to mind!
