What's a fair price for a used Denon 3805? Also...is the Denon DVD-3910 really worth $1000?

The Denon 3805 is selling between $600-$800.

They're selling for $800 new right now in certain stores that have them left, so you won't be getting $800 used. The easy way to find out is check ebay and audiogon, becasue that is what the typical used buyers will be comparing prices to. I generally won't pay more than what ebay has them for.

The 3910 used or new? Buy or sell?

Lightly used on both and I'm buying. I'm probably gonna get a 3805, DVD-3910, and KEF KHT2005.2 w/ speaker stands for $2k cash. Does that sound like a decent price? The seller says they're all lightly used watching about two movies a week for almost a year.

I purchased the 3805 and 3910 (the 3910 is a very nice unit) from UBID b-stock last year with a one year warranty for approx $750 ea. Not sure on the price/value of the KEF's but it doesn't sound like a bad deal.

I'd say $550 on the 3805 since you'll have no warranty.

A used DVD 3910 worth $1000? Some will argue yes, but with HD DVD and Blu-ray coming out, no way in my opinion.

I'm not familiar with KEF speakers, but they appear to be going for around $800 online. Seems steep for their size, but again, I've not heard them.

Ubid has Mirage Omnistat's for $85 each, shipped, if you're looking for smaller contemporary speakers. They've also got the Yamaha RXV2500 for under $500 which is every bit as good as the Denon 3805. An new Oppo dvd player will set you back $200, and arguably has as good a picture as the Denon.

Is $2000 fair - yes, if you absolutely love the equipment. Can you get as good or better for less? Probably. You just need to shop a bit more.

I just purchased a 3805 new unopened with full warranty from Best Buy for 720 so I agree with previous post for a used one.

Well I'm probably going to get the whole setup for about $1600. If I sell the DVD player I'ld be spending about $900ish. $900 for a 3805 and the KEF KHT2005.2 seems like a pretty good deal to me.
