What would I like to see?

I would like to see more of the excellent 3D work as we saw with Avatar come to market in 3D on Blu-ray, which will be incredible!

NOTE TO OP: Every 3D movie is available in 2D, so don't let YOUR hate mess up those of us who are actually excited about the technology.

I am very interested in getting my hands on a decent media server (or media server program) which will auto-catalog my 200+ library which is already on my hard drive and will allow for simultaneous 1080i component / 1080p HDMI playback for my home setup.

Digital downloads have no interest to me until they deliver 1080p BD quality with some level of transportability for anywhere approaching a realistic price for the quality.

well i was reffering to digital downloads in music, there is no reason people cannot offer flac downloads. we are far off from being able to offer 1080 downloads, they are around 20gb a movie

There is a reason. FLAC is freeware and the developers forbid commercial use. So commercial sites fro profit have to use another loss less codec.

Sorta, there are many bands that are associated with "live downloads" where the artist offer live shows (most unedited and the next day) for purchase in FLAC. ie www.livephish.com

Yes, there is a reason. The internet doesn't have the capacity to send an infinite amount of data at one time. The more data that has to be sent at a given time, the more packets are delayed or lost and the slower it moves. If a server is needed to store larger files, it becomes physically larger and more expensive.

I don't know how old you are but less than 15 years ago, the largest hard drives that were offered on consumer-level PC computers was 1GB. You think this is a convenient file size and it's larger than hard drives used to be.

come on, Profit isn't a dirty word. How many times do you hear " I have nowhere to listen to speakers near me" , and why would that be:)

Hi-Fi brick and mortar stores can barely stay open as it is. You must want miracles. :)

The real factor it seems to me is the seemingly purposeful reduction in performance of all speakers in low price brackets. This is a manufacturer/market issue, however.

I see no reason why a high volume manufacturer could not have a WORLD CLASS tower speaker retailing for $1500 USD/pair. It would be impossible for small or even medium volume manufacturers to try it, but a company like Harman, Polk, etc. should be able to pull it off, IMO, based on what I have seen done in the 'budget' speakers today.

Actually I've enjoyed Alice in Wonderland and Avatar. Movie plot lines are repetitive at the very least they can wow us with 3d.

Perhaps you've not gotten to the math class with shapes yet. It may explain the problem.

I'd like to see the guys over at Home Theater Review and Lexicon both admit that the BD-30 is a complete waste of money for anyone looking at the "Best Blu-ray for the money".
