I am reassigning my systems/upgrading. I want a 3.1 system for my Family Room to do music and TV.

I will be using my Onkyo 805 and my Dual Eclipse 10" subs with my adcom amp. (See signature)

I have 2 options available:

Option 1: Keep my Swans Diva 4.2 Towers and purchase the matching center for $329. I am not disappointed with the sound from my Swans but they can be bright at times.

Option 2: Sell my Swans and Purchase a Pair of PSB Imagine (2006/7 model) T65 Towers and matching C60 center channel for $750.

My Room is considered Huge by Bassoholics standards.

What do you guys think??

Thanks

Jeff

You aren't disappointed, but you aren't satisfied enough because you mentioned the brightness. That says to me that I would change the speakers.

+1

I would change the speakers for the reason John stated.

I can pick these units up from a local guys and I can hear them first so that is a plus. In general I can find no real reviews on my current Swan just my own perception. I can only compare to my MB Quarts which are a much better quality and to my perception neutral speaker. Which from the reviews on the PSBs most comments come in as a neutral speaker also. I will be listening to them tomorrow to make my decision.

Anybody have the PSBs and like or dislike them??

I auditioned my speakers for almost 2 weeks. In that time, I never felt listening fatigue once and I was very pleased with the sound. That's how I knew they were the ones I would buy, but I could within a few minutes that I already liked them :)

I had some Studio 40s back to back with my A/V-2s for almost 2 weeks also, and though I liked them quite a bit, I would notice the brightness after a while too. So the decision was simple.

I guess the bonus is they are used, so if I did not like them I could likely sell them for about what I bought them for. I personally think that $750 for the set seems about right to me for the price and supposedly in mint condition.
