Unless you need 2nd zone component video and 2 HDMI outs, I vote for the 3808.

The direct comparison can be seen here.

Both receivers are very capable and have almost equivalent features. The differences are,

Get the 3808 and use the extra $300 for some new nice concert blu-rays and SACDs.

Unless you need a little more power and your speakers nedd a little extra boost. You already got the main difference in the post just above, now it's up to you, they are both excellent.

Or get the 4308, at that price, it is actually a pretty nice deal. And just watch the blu-rays and listen to the SACDs that you alredy have. ;)

Note: Yeah, go for the 4308ci, it has more power into 4-ohm loads and a good extra set of features (2 HDMI outs, it is fully loaded with Network stuff...). Plus it is at just over 50% off from it's list price.

Note #2: About an Onkyo TX-SR876 for $950? Personally I'll go for the 876 (refurb), at accessories 4 less. Or the Onkyo TX-NR906 for $1,250? Same place. :)
