I was just given 3 Triad in wall Silver/4 ( Monitors,http://www.triadspeakers.com/products/iws15ps.html ) and 1 Triad in wall Silver/15 powersub without the amp http://www.triadspeakers.com/products/iws15ps.html. Since I am new to this how and what should I do to get this up and running. Should I design a system around these or should I get a a complete system. My price range to get this all up and running would be about $2000 which includes adding additional speakers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, BTW my room is approx 25x20 with 19 foot ceiling and a sony 60 inch LCD. I have looked at a Denon AVR 2807 which seems nice however will it have the power that will be necessary to drive the Subwoofer and give great sound when I add the additional speakers.

Thats a big room. I would suggest looking at more efficient speakers (or getting the rest of the set, which is decenty efficient).

BTW, the Denon receiver, or any receiver for that matter will not drive a subwoofer. You will need an external amp for that.

All those speakers are inwall. You will need to do some deconstruction in order for them to perform properly.

Those speakers are crap! you should get rid of them immediately. I will send you some shipping boxes, and a pre-paid shipping sticker and offer to take them off your hands so that you don't have to worry about disposing of them. I would offer to buy them from you, but they just aren't worth that much.

Actually, I am a little - okay - a lot jealous. My friends never just give me $8,000 worth of speakers. Trade you a $300 gift certificate to Circuit City or Best Buy.

You will need an amp for the sub. Triad makes one, but it is a bit expensive. You are on your way to an awesome system.

Enjoy

Triad Speakers are fantastic. One of the truly unique and important speaker companies out there today. I recommend keeping them without reservation. Also, no major construction work will be needed for the models with the "/4" designation in the model number. The /4 means that the speaker will fit into a wall with a 4" depth. All Triad in-walls are built back boxed and designed to sound as close to identical as possible to their in-room counterparts. Just cut the hole out of the wall and screw them in.

As for the subwoofer, that will be more than likely chalenging to put into your wall because of the /15 (15" depth) model number. I would get the Triad amp that goes with it. Not doing so and putting acheap amp on it would be like someone giving you a Porsche without tires, and then you go and put Ford Taurus tires on it. If your budget can at all be flexible, get the amp that it was designed for and you'll get it's best performance.

The Denon receiver will do fine to power those.

Enjoy those speakers, they are considered the cream of the crop by many in the A/V community. Congratulations on the speakers..... they're just awesome. I'm a Triad dealer so I should know :)

*Side note, I hate in-wall subs with a passion. I mean I HATE them! I would go as far as to say that I hate in-wall subs more than I hate Bose Lifestyle products. HOWEVER.... Triad in-walls subs are amazing speakers. I have no hangups with those at all. They actually sound spot on to their boxed subs which are really really nice. Although, the model you have is 15" deep, so it isn't really your typical in-wall sub is it? Enjoy those speakers!

Thanks for the quick replies, I knew the speakers where nice but I didn’t realize they were that nice. I have some more questions; one is what would a good amp be to power the sub and what speakers would everyone recommend to work with the Triads. My office is off my family room and I will install the sub there and it will be located under my desk to hide it. I really am getting excited to get this going and thanks to everyone for their help. Oh I should mention that I also got 7 Boston acoustics voyager speakers http://www.bostonacoustics.com/home_product.aspx?category_id=63&product_id=282 with the triads would these be appropriate for the system?
